UK Government ministers have been urged to provide concrete support to the ₤ 1.84 billion Tay Cities Deal after Holyrood vowed its assistance.

Scottish Government economic situation assistant Keith Brown claimed there was a company commitment to the system, which could develop 15,000 work throughout Dundee, Angus, Perth and Kinross and north-east Fife.

Speaking in the Scottish Parliament, Mr Brown swore the Scottish Government would sustain the Tay Cities Deal as well as a comparable proposition for Stirling.

He claimed: “Having devoted greater than ₤ 1bn over the following 10-20 years for city region offers, it is currently time to increase our regional economic policy to provide a transformational city region deal for the Tay Cities Region.”
